About this event

The issues continue to attract scrutiny from the FCA, with supervisory and thematic work in recent years leading to industry feedback expected in early Q1 2025.

Private asset investment promises to be a hot topic over 2025 with continued UK government support for more investment in this asset class to promote growth.

This FBC digital event brings together a panel of fund board directors to explore how their authorised fund managers approach managing the risks of private assets in authorised funds. Themes for discussion include:

  • The role of the fund board in setting investment and valuation policy
  • What Management Information (MI) the fund board receives on fair value pricing issues
  • Examples of good governance when it comes to managing valuation risks
  • The role of the three lines of defence in providing assurance to the fund board on valuation issues

This event will primarily focus on the valuation challenges of private assets and builds on the FBC research on liquidity risk oversight by fund boards, undertaken in 2024. See here for more details and FBC members can access the full research via the Member Portal and watch or listen to a recording of our discussion on liquidity risk from April 2024.
