At FBC, we are fully committed to being a responsible business.
As of March 2024, we are proud to have achieved B Corp certification and we have recently signed up for a second year as a member of Heart of the City – a registered charity based in the City of London supporting SMEs in their responsible business work.
Since our launch in 2019, we have implemented a range of responsible business intiatives internally. An important example is our fund-raising programme, where members of the FBC team choose charities each year which we support through a programme of corporate giving and employee fundraising.
As we develop our responsible business strategy, we will focus on five pillars aligned with those identified in the B Corp certification process:
More details about B Corp, Heart of the City and the charities we have chosen to support for 2025 are below. If you’d like more information about FBC’s charitable programme, please do get in touch
B Corp certification recognises a business as meeting high standards in social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. To become a certified B Corp, companies must complete a rigorous assessment of the impact of their operations and business model on their internal team, their customers, the community and the environment. After a lot of dedicated work, FBC is delighted to have achieved B Corp status in March 2024.

We know how important it is for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) to play a part in responsible business, and so last year we joined Heart of the City as a member of their Foundations for Responsible Business. With their support, we are developing activities around supporting our people’s mental health and wellbeing, increasing diversity and inclusion, and supporting our local communities.
You can find out more information about Heart of the City on their website.
At FBC, our charities and causes are close to the heart of our team. We make an annual charity donation on behalf of the many speakers and experts who give their time to support our work in fund governance. It’s our way of thanking our industry colleagues for their time – as well as doing our bit for the communities in which we live and work.
Each year, members of our team select the charities we support, and this year they have chosen: Guide Dogs, the Mindfulness in Schools Project, and PKD charity.
Our employees also participate in an annual fundraising activity to raise additional funds for their chosen charities. This year our team are virtually running, cycling, and walking between our financial centres and main meeting locations. Our journey starts in London, then takes us to Luxembourg, Edinburgh, and Dublin before returning to London, covering an incredible 2,753 km!

“Consider the joy and support – emotional and physical – that pets bring their owners, and none more so than dogs (for some of us, anyway!) and then consider what these amazing animals are able to do for people with sight loss. It’s nothing short of remarkable.
I’ve supported Guide Dogs for some years now, and very pleased to be able to do a little bit more through Fund Boards Council’s excellent charitable support programme.”

“Since 2009, the Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) has been supporting young people and schools with evidence-based mindfulness training and materials to help improve mental health and wellbeing. Their work is becoming ever more important as mental health issues among young people spiral. Their mindfulness courses have already reached at least 1.1m young people, teaching skills that help with things like coping with difficulties, managing thoughts and emotions, and improving concentration.”

“Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a range of inherited conditions that can cause kidney failure and affect other organs in the body such as the liver, brain, heart and bowels.
PKD Charity is the only UK charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of an estimated 70,000 individuals and their families affected by PKD in the UK. They provide information, advice and personalised support to those with PKD, as well as funding research into PKD therapies to improve quality and longevity of life.
Having seen first-hand the effects of this condition, I’m delighted to be able to fundraise for PKD Charity.”

This panel discussion will explore the future of Assessment of Value (AoV) reporting in light of the FCA’s recent announcements. As regulatory requirements evolve, this session will examine how firms are responding—whether by scaling back, maintaining, or enhancing their AoV processes—and what this means for governance, transparency, and investor outcomes.
