Ross Douglas

As head of Governance Frameworks & Policy, Ross Douglas is responsible for ensuring that the Group maintains an effective corporate governance framework across NatWest Group plc and its subsidiaries. Appointed in 2020, Ross’s role includes ownership of the Group’s Corporate Governance Policy and a responsibility to oversee its effective implementation through advice and support to stakeholders across the Group. 

Ross is secretary to the NatWest Group Board’s Nominations & Governance Committee which maintains oversight of board succession planning on behalf of the Group’s most senior boards and is responsible for monitoring the Group’s overall governance arrangements. Ross also leads the Corporate Governance team’s involvement in key structural reform projects including ring-fencing and recovery & resolution planning. 

Ross is a solicitor with a degree from the University of Aberdeen and a member of the Law Society of Scotland. He joined NatWest Group in 2015 from CMS Cameron McKenna LLP having worked in the firm’s Corporate & Leveraged Finance teams in both Edinburgh and London.
