Kirstene’s background is as a financial services specialist lawyer, with over 30 years’ experience in acting for asset managers in relation to investment funds and products.  Although best known for advising household names in relation to regulated funds, her practice evolved, with the globalisation of fund management businesses, to cover a wide range of international funds and products including alternative investment funds of a variety of descriptions, and insurance and pension products.   

 Kirstene advised the FSA regarding the governance of UK authorised collective schemes in 2002, as part of their work on introducing the Collective Investment Funds (COLL) Sourcebook. She was a member of the UK FCA’s Legal Experts Group regarding implementation of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive. Kirstene is a member of the Investment Association’s current Direct2Fund Legal Working Group.
