Julie is an iNED, charity trustee and regulatory consultant, and chairs the Investment Association’s Sectors Committee. She has specialised in the asset management and funds sector for over 20 years, across all asset classes and product types.

She previously led on regulatory change in asset management within KPMG’s EMA Regulatory Insights Centre, providing thought leadership and analysis of regulatory proposals and supervisory priorities. She also co-ordinated the Centre’s work on sustainable finance regulation and Brexit impacts.

Before joining KPMG, Julie was first a regulator (at the Bank of England and the FSA) and then a director at the Investment Association. She expanded the regulatory function to cover segregated mandates, capital requirements and asset management operations, and then focussed on investment funds – regulation, distribution, administration, financial reporting, tax and legal. She led the IA’s lobbying activity in the EU.

She has a broad knowledge of the European fund and distribution landscape, was closely involved for over 20 years with the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and has worked with various other trade associations.
