Fund board iNEDs appointments: Opportunities and challenges
Join us for this opportunity for FBC members to hear from Greg Brisk on the role, recruitment and onboarding process for iNEDs and future opportunities for those looking for their first or next role on a fund board.
Greg brings over 20 years of fund management governance and board experience, and will be in conversation with FBC’s Shiv Taneja. Greg will reflect on his experience of hiring board iNEDs in the UK (and elsewhere) to BNY Mellon’s various fund boards, helping them get established in their roles and supporting them in enhancing the value and transparency of investment governance. The discussion will also explore how the role of the fund board iNED is evolving and the implications for those aspiring to sit on a fund board.

Tuesday 6th October – 2pm
FBC member only event
Heads of product governance/management and those senior product professionals who work closely with their fund board are warmly invited to join us for the next in FBC’s series of Executive Governance Roundtable.
Aimed at those working with boards and/or on “board track” themselves, these roundtables examine in depth topics that product governance professionals may be bringing to their boards as well as practical considerations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of board interaction.
In this closed-door session, we’ll assess the initial experiences from the first round of Assessment of Value reports, and how product governance professionals are approaching AoV 2.0, well as looking beyond AoV to examine key product governance challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in 2021 and beyond.
This FBC Digital Meeting is open to product governance/management professionals of FBC member firms only. By invitation only. Please contact us if you would like more information or to discuss attendance at this event.
FBC Digital Meeting: Measuring Value in Pensions and Mutual Funds
Tuesday 15th October – 2pm
Open to all – registration essential
In this dedicated session for professionals working on or closely with Independence Governance Committees (IGC), Investment Advisory Committees (IACs) or Governance Advisory Arrangements (GAA),

Discussions at FBC Digital Meetings are lively and informative…
FBC will bring together an expert panel of board executives and pension trustees to examine the lessons that can be learned from each group’s experience of measuring and articulating the value they bring to their customers.
We’ll look at how each group went about establishing the criteria they’d use, the resourcing required, the role of the board, interaction with customers and looking ahead, the lessons they have learned so far and how they are applying them going forward.
David Butcher, an FBC Advisory Committee member and our chair for the session, will be joined by independent directors and trustees who bring experience and expertise from asset management fund boards and defined contribution pensions.
Whilst this Digital Meeting is open to all, registration is essential, with priority given to FBC members. Please secure your place early.

FBC Digital Meeting: Assessing the Assessors
Thursday 3rd December – 2pm
Open to all – registration essential
One year on from the publication of the first Assessment of Value (AoV) reports, FBC takes a deep dive into how the industry has risen to the challenge of measuring and articulating the value its funds provide to investors.

…and often entertaining too!
Using data and intelligence from FBC’s proprietary Assessment of Value Analyser (AoVA) tool and discussions with members, FBC’s Catherine Battershill and Shiv Taneja will set out the main areas of emerging good practice, examine how firms have addressed several key aspects of the AoV process. The discussion will explore the following:
1. How is the AoV process having an impact on product management/governance;
2. The role of the fund board (specifically the chair and the iNEDs) in developing the AoV report, and implications for board governance and practice
3. What’s on the agenda for next year’s reports
Whilst this Digital Meeting is open to all, registration is essential, with priority given to FBC members. Please secure your place early.
