Fund Boards Council welcomes David Butcher to its Advisory Council
Fund Boards Council is delighted to welcome David Butcher to its Advisory Council. David brings vast expertise from a range of investment governance roles including as a Non Executive Director at BlackRock Pensions Limited and as a Trustee on the board of Legal & General’s Master Trust. He is also Chairman of the Board of health charity, The Optimum Health Clinic Foundation and of fintech firm, Risk Technologies.
A familiar face to many FBC members, David spoke at FBC’s iNED Boot Camp in January 2020 about the opportunities for fund boards and master trust boards to learn from one another. He also featured on a recent video panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing newly-appointed iNEDs in establishing themselves in their role, which is available on FBC’s website.
Announcing David’s appointment to the Advisory Council, Fund Boards Council’s Founder and CEO, Shiv Taneja said: “As the regulatory requirements on board directors become ever greater, there is a huge opportunity for those involved in many different aspects of investment governance – whether it be on fund boards, master trusts, Independent Governance Committees or investment trusts – to come together to discuss common themes, share insights and showcase best practice in delivering better governance on behalf of investors. We are delighted to be able to draw on David’s extensive board experience and governance know-how as we continue to develop our program of events and engagement opportunities to support this expertise-sharing.”
