We are delighted to announce the launch of Fund Boards Council, a new membership organisation dedicated to supporting board members as they seek to enhance governance and transparency in the mutual fund industry.
Fund Boards Council works closely with fund board chairs and board directors – both independent and executive – to help them navigate governance challenges and opportunities, providing access to insight, expertise and best practice from industry specialists from the UK and overseas.
Fund Boards Council offers three categories of membership:
1) Aspiring iNEDs Membership for those looking to land an iNED role on a mutual fund board
2) Corporate Membership for asset management firms looking for membership for their full board
3) Corporate iNEDs Membership for those already in an iNED role
Founder and CEO, Shiv Taneja explains: “We are passionate advocates for good fund board governance and Fund Boards Council will be a platform from which we will share examples of excellence, offer guidance and support to asset management firms on governance topics and back the industry-wide push for greater transparency, better governance and appropriate diversity on fund boards.”
Catherine Battershill, Founder of Fund Boards Council added: “Equally as important is the support we will provide to iNEDs as they find and take up their new roles on fund boards – helping them to establish themselves, keep up to date on latest governance developments and make an impact in this important board role.”
More information is available at Fund Boards Council and aspiring iNEDs can sign up online and get immediate access to the Member Portal. Prospective Corporate iNEDs and Corporate Members can contact the Fund Boards Council team for more membership information.
Once signed up, members get access to a personalised dashboard, with tailored content relating to the latest governance news, video insights/webinars, in-depth research and events. FBC’s events include both large “boot camp” type of events and also smaller, informal meetings, bringing together different groups of people with an interest in governance topics.
We look forward to welcoming our new members and to together helping to driving forward excellence in fund board governance.
